This blog post has taken well over a year to write, because it is a challenge and it takes great faith to not give into the pressures of this world. And to stand firm in truth. So it may not be a easy journey but it is a journey filled with love and choices. To think we are faced with many choices in life is an understatement. Especially choices regarding people and the relationships we develop throughout our life times will affect us for a long time or even our entire lives. Also we are faced with many choices in regard to our faith and relationship with Christ. For instance we are faced with the choice to either believe God’s word for what it is or not. And whether or not we will stand firm in our relationship with Christ, and His truth which withstands everything in this entire world. It is like our relationship with Christ we either believe him as our savior or not. We either hold-fast to his word or we waver back and forth like the world does. We cannot be lukewarm with Christ and what we believe it is just not possible. There is no such thing as a causal relationship with Jesus Christ. A relationship with Christ involves a deep commitment to him and to believing the truth. It also involves a commitment to connecting and communing with him through his word and seeking his presence. Just like in the relationships we develop throughout our entire lives, which are about connecting and fellowship. Yet, it seems in today's world it is getting unheard of or very rare. For example people in general would rather sit in the same room with you and text you then talk or communicate face to face. God created us to fellowship and commune with one another but most of to fellowship and commune with him. However, have you ever had a time when the enemy attacks you in every possible way to knock you down until your at your lowest point. For example, have you ever had a time when things seem the worst or feel the worst and you just want to punch the enemy in the face. Or it seems or feels like everyone dislikes or hates you, or that people around you doubt your intentions. It is just the worst feeling think that someone or anyone thinks the absolute worst about you compared to seeking out the truth about you. And the question that crosses your mind is, is it too much to ask to seek out the truth? Why do as humans we choose to believe lies over the truth especially when it comes to people in general and everyone else. Especially those who are to cheer us on or come along side us as our neighbor to help us up? Loving our neighbor always is never convenient or easy, specially when others hurt us or believe lies about us or does something we do not like. If the enemy can’t take you down personally, he will try to go after your relationships, connections, and community, because he thrives on destroying what builds us up and draws us or challenges us to draw closer to God. He will try to plant doubt or even deceit in you, or those around you whether through misunderstandings, presumptions, assumptions, misplaced judgements, and so forth, that are not based on the truth. I guess the point is we are faced with the choice of whether to believe the best of what God says about us and about others, or not. And to overlook the human flaws that are purely imperfect but made perfect through Christ. We are called to love our neighbor always no matter what. Also we are faced with the choice of whether to believe what he says is true or not, and whether or not we will stand firm on his truth. Basically, do we believe what God says is true, and that he does not lie or we do not. And we either believe our identity is in Christ alone or we do not. For God cannot lie and we cannot hide from God or his truth. However, people do lie at times because we are finite human beings who are flawed and imperfect. People fail every single one of us, but in Christ we do not fail, because he has saved us and made us new. Yet God’s word still stands and what he tells us, speaks over us, and will stand when all else falls. Will we believe what God says even if we look foolish or stupid to others? Will we believe God and love him if things are not always good ? Will we believe what God says in secret and believe it will manifest or not? Will we believe God’s truth over the false expectations we have on life or people around us? Will we let go of the false image we have on life or what other people in general should look like? Or the ideal family, spouse, children, job, employees, etc? Will we let go of pride that is holding us back from giving God our best? Will we let go of the fear of what others think to fully embrace God’s best and not live in fear? Will we surprise or deny the truth ? Or will we stand firm and abide in God’s word? What are you willing to give God? Are we willing to give up our fears and rely on God?
